What is the DPDP Act, 2023?

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) is India's law governing the processing of digital personal data. It gives you, as a “Data Principal”, specific rights over the personal data that organisations (“Data Fiduciaries”) like Bengaluru Connect collect and process about you.

Bengaluru Connect complies with the DPDP Act, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and related rules, and respects your data protection rights.

Your Rights Under the DPDP Act

Right to Access (Sec. 11)

Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and the processing activities carried out on it.

Right to Erasure (Sec. 12)

Request deletion of your personal data once it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, subject to legal exceptions.

Right to Correction (Sec. 12)

Request correction of inaccurate or misleading data, completion of incomplete data, and updating of your personal data.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Withdraw consent for processing at any time, as easily as it was given. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.

Right to Grievance Redressal (Sec. 13)

Access a readily available means to register a grievance with us regarding our handling of your data.

Right to Nominate (Sec. 14)

Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

Initial Acknowledgment

We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 2 business days.

Verification

We may request additional information to verify your identity and ensure we're processing the correct data.

Fulfillment

We will fulfill your request within 30 days of verification, or provide an explanation if we need additional time.

Consent (Sec. 4(1)(a)): When you explicitly agree to receive newsletters or marketing communications
Certain Legitimate Uses (Sec. 7): To provide the service you've requested, improve our platform, and for security
