Commercial Street is the old-school bargain trail: silks, jewellery, ethnic wear, footwear and everyday finds, with the art of friendly bargaining still very much alive. A short hop away, Brigade Road trades haggling for glitz, with high-street brands, cafes and festive lights that turn the whole stretch into a party around Christmas. Come hungry. Between the two, you can chase a quick chaat, a filter coffee or a long sit-down dinner, and still be home with a bag full of bargains. Local tip: Go on a weekday for breathing room, and take the Metro to MG Road instead of driving. Parking here is a sport of its own.
